Dear Florida Multiple Birth Parents:
Here is the link to our Twins Bill in Florida. Please click it for a status update on the bill. The bill is currently on the Governor’s Desk and once signed it will become effective July 2008.
Please also read the bill in its entirety so you understand your rights and responsibilities. You need to ask the school for your placement request no later than 5 days before the first day of school. There are also provisions for families that move into the district.

On the last day of this legislative session, with 1.25 hours left, SB 642 passed the house unanimously – 119 to 0! Now it is onto the Governor’s desk for signing.
I would like to thank you all for your support and well wishes during this time. I would like to especially thank the Florida Twins Law Campaigners for helping me get this initiative off the ground. I have also called and personally thanked our sponsors in the House, Representative Bill Heller, and in the Senate, Senator Gary Siplin. Without both of them fighting so hard in both chambers up until this afternoon, our bill would have had to wait until next session (March 2009). Please feel free to email them a thank you for fighting for Florida’s Multiple Birth Families.
