Twinslaw.com welcomes the Penfield Family!!

My wife Pam and I have been blessed with 4 wonderful children.  Our son Kaleb is 6 years old and our triplets: Conner, Brady, and Gabbie are 4 years old.

We recently enrolled the triplets into a Pre-K program for the 2007-2008 school year.  It has been our wish to keep the triplets in the same classroom for at least the first two years of school.  They have been together since conception, and even in daycare, since my parents are the in-home caregivers.  My wife and I both feel that keeping the kids together to start out is in their best interest.  If they decide to separate on their own after that it will be their decision.

Many educators, and school administrators, believe that multiples should be separated in order to  develop as individuals.  As a result, schools also strictly enforce this philosophy without giving the parents' wishes or concerns any consideration.  This could be a valid point for some multiples, but we feel that as parents (and teachers) our children will benefit from having a "Comfort Zone" when they start school.  This choice should be made by an educational team made up of the parents, administrators, and teachers of multiples who are beginning their school experience....but the final say should be the parents' decision.

Our children's Principal has been flexible in the placement of the triplets in the same classroom.  This is GREAT for us, but many people are not as lucky.   Too often parents have been told that they do not have this option, which is why we have decided to campaign for "Twins Law Legislation" in Wisconsin.
